Things to ponder...
- Question: Whose opinion do you care about more than your own?
- Self-help paradox: When those best at helping others are the worst at helping themselves. I find this fascinating and have seen many examples of it in my own life. Not sure why this happens... It's like altruism winning over self-preservation.
- People die with way too much money. You should try to die with zero and make sure that you don't waste any hard-earned dollars! What was all of that work for if not to enjoy the rewards? You can't take the money with you when you die, and why wait for death to give money to your kids? Just give them their inheritance now and move on to do fun things with them.
- "The best time to plant a tree was 25 years ago. The second best time is today." -Eliud Kipchoge
- Action is the antidote to anxiety. Most problems are easily fixed: exercise, call a friend, etc… Instead, people tend to stay in bed, eat like crap, and ultimately make things worse. These are maladaptive coping mechanisms, part of a feedback loop that keeps you down. Instead, take action!
